freedom lives hence, and banishment is here
Sunday, December 11
i've been terribly busy over these past days, ever since the last day of ib. but thankfully, it's a good kind of busy. usually during the holidays i'd be rotting at home watching tv or on the comp for most of the day, but this year i'm glad that i'm actually putting my time to good use, and having quality activities with friends and family alike. there's just been so much happening, that my time available to write about all the different things is so little, especially compared to how much there is to write about! so with so little time on my hands, i'll write down the highlights of these past days. i definitely don't want to forget these things (:
to begin with, there were the multiple celebratory outings --- one after econs ended (with ben, mong, darren and jack -
tuesday, 15nov) and another after bio ended (with shaun, loj, jonwong, klarissa, ben, seang, jack and darren -
thursday, 17nov). lanned quite a bit, and i can safely say that i still prefer an fps to an rts. i still don't quite get the flow of an rts game, and i've no idea how other people can do things so quickly hahaha XD but darren did help me quite a fair bit in understanding the games a lot better, so at least there was that (:
in the spirit of a true aunty, jonwong also brought us to have lunch at this place called justacia in dhoby ghaut (spelling this is always annoyingly weird) during the outing, where there's free flow drinks and ice cream. food there's not too bad for the price, and the free flow stuff sure is an added bonus, though i didn't make much use of it. i must say though, it really is quite fun to do the occasional auntying around with jonwong :P it always just cracks me up, especially with someone like him who so readily reciprocates that same style of humour :P jonwong ah jonwong, as you once said during one of your cf sharings, it's a good for people from different ministries in the school to say 'hello' to each other eh :P if not we wouldn't have known each other!
mmm, yesh.
on following monday, the mathlab gang went to uss (
monday, 21nov). i never thought i'd be going back there after coy camp due to the exorbitant prices, but since darren had 4 free tickets, the price for all 9 of us was rather well subsidised compared to normal prices (: and with good company, why not? and it turned out to be seriously epic, because i hadn't taken battlestar galactica before, and it was so so so good! when my family went to theme parks all over the world, i was still a toddler, so i never ever got to ride good roller coasters, while my siblings enjoyed them all. so it was nice for me to be able to enjoy a good roller coaster :P helped a lot that there was practically no queue for them --- we guessed that it's because the people there were too wussy to try the most adrenaline-pumping roller coaster there. good for us anyway :P we sat on it about 13 times in total, hahaha! cylon is a LOT better than human though, for those who go next time (: really glad that everyone that had an appetite for crazy roller coasters, so we could all just keep spamming it without leaving anyone out!

battlestar galactica (:
aside from that, we also went on the transformers 3D ride before it's official opening :D kudos to them for making such a great ride! the excitement only lasted once for me though, cos you kinda know what's gonna happen the subsequent times. but still, was a good experience (: other part worth mentioning is the waterworks show, when we pretty much split up into 3 groups for seating :P hahaha, was quite funny --- loj, shaun, leon and darren sat in the
soak zone; klarissa, ben, jonwong and i sat in the
splash zone; zack was the long ranger who sat at the back where no water would reach XD hahahaha, such an old man eh zack? :P so in the end, the descriptions were indeed very telling of our different degrees of wetness. the guys in the front were really drenched! with no clothes to change into either :P
the sensible ones who stayed dry
we also had quite some fun running back and forth to the lockers before and after every ride. since the lockers are only free for the first 30min of usage, we had to keep going back to reactivate our lockers after every ride. our closest shave was with the mummy ride, cos they had technical delays, which caused us to wait in there longer than expected. would've been annoying if we got back after the 30min, partly because of the cost, but more because our wallets were all in the lockers (by decree of the workers there), so we would have a hard time finding money to get out our stuff. hehe, jonwong and i activated aunty mode and kept checking the time remaining even throughout the ride hahaha :P so hilarious. then we dashed back to the lockers in the rain, and made it in time :P
jonwong feeling frazzled and dazzled
then there was prom night (
tuesday, 22nov). well it's common knowledge now that the it wasn't quite worth the money we paid, but nevertheless, it was a night where many people definitely racked up their photo count on facebook. the place was rather cramped, so it was hard to take nice proper photos; and everyone was pushing around to get to their friends to quickly snap a shot. i'll admit it was quite fun to have the mini .9 reunions here and there though ;) amidst the whole hubbub, i had a nice period of time where i was in a spacious corner of the ballroom along with esther, mong and ben. we'd already taken pictures with each other, so since we didn't have much else to do, we started camwhoring for a while, hahahaha! been ages since i did that :P think i had a disastrously camwhorish shot with esther, but it's on her camera, so i can't put it here, so oh wells... hahahaha.
camwhoring with the puppy!
the highlight of the night for me was not the prom itself, but actually the night walk with shaun, ben and darren down orchard road. i brought them up the long escalators of orchard central to the rooftop, which michael ong had introduced to me and the rest of his mentees earlier this year :P it's just a nice, relaxing feeling, to be strolling along the streets of the busy city centre of singapore at the late hour of night. ben and i were giggling as we walked along the rooftop of orchard central, cos we realised it was like a hideout for dating couples to go and make out or something, hahahaha!

okay this is quite a lot for one post. quite sian to read long posts, and to write long posts, so i shall keep the rest of the stuff for another time, or this will go on forever and i will end up not releasing anything, knowing me :P
so little time, so much to do!
